Laura is an associate therapist with 8 years of experience in the fields of mental health and social services. She received her master’s degree in clinical social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She then went on to earn a PhD in communications at Liberty University, where she specialized in patient-centered narratives for individuals living with chronic conditions.
Laura walks alongside children, adolescents, and adults experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, interpersonal relationship concerns, and life transitions. She is also passionate about helping clients navigate cultural identity and cross-cultural communication, as she herself was born and raised internationally, is married into an Asian-American family, and has worked extensively with refugee, immigrant, and expat populations.
As a Christian, Laura pays special attention to the relationship between the mind, body, soul, and spirit. She aims to empower every client on their healing journey as they courageously cultivate freedom and wholeness in their life.
Sessions with Laura are warm, soaked in empathy, trauma-informed, and involve a blend of theoretical orientations including psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and play therapy.
