Anxiety Disorder
Anxiety disorders are a group of psychiatric conditions that include:
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Social anxiety disorder
- Panic disorder
- Agoraphobia
- Specific phobia
- Separation anxiety disorder
The anxiety disorders are characterized by excessive fear and worry, along with physiological and behavioral disturbances. They are similar in that a person exhibits persistent thoughts of distress, fear, and worry about situations that are not normally considered to be excessively stressful, and differ from each other in the target or focus of the fear.
Utilizing evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and somatic techniques, our therapists can help you identify the core issues underlying the anxious thoughts and feelings, and help you find adequate coping skills to manage your symptoms.
